Our Story
In 2020, a backyard idea turned into a revolutionary movement in dirt track racing. What started with modifying old karts for fun quickly evolved as demand grew and supply couldn’t keep up. By 2022, we introduced our first custom wedge-frame kart—a hand-built design that immediately became the gold standard for stock-class racing.
Today, Wedg Karts continues to push boundaries. Every kart is built in Northern California and delivered to tracks across the country. We’re proud to offer a product that’s more than just a kart; it’s a commitment to excellence, accessibility, and the thrill of the race.
About the Founder
Josh Stagg, founder of Wedg Karts, is a visionary in motorsports with decades of experience spanning insurance, consulting, and racing. Born in Sacramento, California, and educated at the University of Montana, Josh’s passion for Sprint Car racing led to a career marked by leadership and innovation.
As the leader of Stagg Motor Sports, Josh collaborated with legendary racer Jimmy Sills to launch a driving school and achieved multiple ASCS wins and championships with his longtime friend David Hoiness Jr. Recognized for his expertise, Josh also led the Frontier Region of the ASCS and supported top racers like Seth Bergman on the National Tour.
With Wedg Karts, Josh combines cutting-edge design with handcrafted quality to revolutionize dirt track racing. His vision extends beyond the track, building a community that celebrates connection, competition, and accessibility.
